Originally based in Sweden at Huskvarna, they brought out their first motorcycle in 1903. In 1920 they set up their own engine factory producing a 550cc four-stroke V-twin which had a lot in common with those being built by Indian and Harley-Davidson. In 1987 the motorcycle division was taken over by Cagiva. In 2007 BMW purchased Husqvarna, planning to develop them as a separate operation.

Their lightweight two-stroke engines dominated the off road scene for a long time. Over the years, Husqvarna motorcycles have confidently shown that they have what it takes to win championships with over 40 wins to their name.
